These are a selection of our schools' favourite activities to encourage and enable sustainable journeys to school.
All activites aim to:

Events are displayed by term to help you plan out a school year of fun events.
Fundamental bike skills taught on the playground to small groups through fun games. Great for a PE session.
Bike safety checks (MOT) for the whole school to reduce one of the most common barriers preventing pupils from cycling to school
Riding without stabilisers for the first time within 1 hour with our very effective method.
A yearly, national competition in spring. For a few weeks schools compete to get the highest percentage of pupils cycling or scooting to school. Includes support journeys from parents and staff.
Teaching small groups of pupils essential scooting skills and safety on the playground.
We loan out balance bikes to schools free and do skills sessions too
A breakfast for any child who cycles or scoots to school. Usually sourced free from a local shop and includes fruit, juice, yoghurt and cereal bars. Great for getting parents involved.
Schools are given a bag of cycling related giveaways to award pupils exhibiting good behaviour like best maintained bike, most cycling to school, most safely dressed etc.
Our Be Bright Be Seen assembly or class is very popular during autumn term. I like to follow it up with a Dress Bright competition
Any staff or parent can be given training to lead popular activities like bike skills, safety checks, scoot skills etc.
Pupils dress up their bikes and scooters based on themes. This gets lots of pupils cycling and scooting to school for the day
An after school or lunchtime club for anyone who would like to learn maintenance, skills or celebrate cycling
A classroom activity with a short survey outdoors. Pupils learn and discuss about the environment surrounding their journey to school and how to improve it
In summer it's great to take pupils and parents on a local ride.
We take surveys on travel habits to school, do bike counts and reward schools for their hard work

We have a range of great classes to introduce sustainable travel topics into the curriculum including Maths and Geography
Set up a 5 minutes to school walk, scoot and cycle map including key parking spots, to encourage parents to Park & Stride
Make use of your local Skate Park to host as a school BMX and Scooting talent show
